Journalist Jofelle Tesorio, who was ordered jailed by a local judge yesterday morning, was released after almost ten hours in detention.
Tesorio was brought to a women’s detention facility in Camp Karingal in Quezon City shortly after posting a P20,000 bail bond about 9 a.m. Thursday morning. Read the rest of this entry »

More than 50 U.S. Navy personnel are working at the Honest Anislag Transition Center in Bicol Region to build homes for families left homeless by the 2006 typhoons.
Through Pacific Partnership, a four-month goodwill mission undertaken by the USS Peleliu (LHA 5), the U.S. Navy is working with Armed Forces of the Philippines engineers to build 35 new homes on land donated by the Government of the Philippines. These houses are in a section of the Honest Anislag Transition Center run by the Daughters of Charity, Sisters of St Vincent de Paul. Read the rest of this entry »

U.S. Navy Seabees and Sailors joined partners from the Armed forces of the Philippines to begin clearing thousands of tons of dirt and debris from a portion of the Tagas River in Tabaco City, Bicol Region.
