Rains drench anti-GMA demonstrators in Legazpi

LEGAZPI CITY — About 1,000 rallyists denouncing massive corruption in government flocked to the Peñaranda Park fronting the provincial capitol here this morning.

Romy Bermodo, head of a transport group CONDOR-Bicol, lambasted the massive corruption in government, especially the botched National Broadband Deal (NBN) of the government with ZTE Corp. of China.

President Arroyo should resign because she has already lost the trust and confidence of the people,” said Bermudo as various groups including Karapatan, Kilusang Mangbubukid sa Pilipina(KMU), BAYAN, and the Redemptorists Order listened to the speakers.

The rains, however, thinned the number of rallyists as many of them were forced to disperse and go home.
