Gov’t declares curfew in Metro Manila, nearby provinces

‘This is not martial law’–PNP chief

MANILA, Philippines – The government, through Interior and Local Secretary Ronaldo Puno has imposed a curfew throughout Metro Manila, in Central Luzon (Region 3), and CALABARZON (Region 4-A).

The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) urges the Philippine National Police (PNP) to stop treating journalists who covered the failed Magdalo uprising as enemies of the state.

We protest in strongest terms the PNP’s move to forcibly bring some journalists to the National Capital Region Police Office in Bicutan and condemn the confiscation of video footage of the day-long stand-off at the Manila Peninsula Hotel. Read the rest of this entry »

Antonio Trillanes IV was dragged by policemen to a waiting bus of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) after surrendering to government troopers who stormed the Manila Peninsula Hotel, where he and renegade soldiers were arrested after the six-hour siege. Sapilitang inaresto at pinagdadampot ang mga mediamen na nag-cover sa Makati stand-off, pinagkukuha ang mga videocam, laptop at mga equipment.  Sa kasalukuyan ay dinala sila Camp Bagon Diwa Bicutan. Tinalian din ang kanilang mga kamay.

Mediamen na nag-cover sa loob ng hotel inaaresto

Pilit na sinasama ang mga mediamen na nag-cover sa loob ng Manila Peninsula Hotel sa Bicutan. Sinasabi ni Ces Drilon ng ABS-CBN na pilit na kinukuha ang video nila at dadalhin sa Bicutan.

Ipinapalalim sa interogasyon ng pulisya ang mga mamamahayag na nasa hotel at dadalhin sa holding area.

Trillanes, Lim, Guingona: lilisanin na ang hotel

Nagpahayag sina Senador Antonio Trillanes, Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim at dating Vice President Teofisto Guingona na lisanin ang Manila Penisula Hotel matapos na bombahin ng mga tear gas.

Ang naturang pagpapasya ay kanilang ginawa upang hindi na dumanak ng dugo at may mga inosenting sibilyan at media ang madamay.
